Transition is perhaps the most complex cast-paper sculpture Pam ever created. The sculpture is positively alive with energy as if it had a pulse all its own, which is exactly what Pam had in mind when she sought to create a sculpture that captures microorganisms going about the business of life. Transition was cast in paper from multiple thermal drawings on Styrofoam using an archival cotton pulp.
